Sunday, September 10, 2006, took place the 39-th Annual Ukrainian Day Festival, held on the grounds of Saint Basil College Seminary in Stamford, Connecticut. The Day began with the Pontifical Divine Liturgy celebrated by Most Rev. Paul Chomnycky, OSBM, Eparch of Stamford, together with Most Rev. Basil Losten, Right Rev. Mitred Msgr. John Terlecky, rector of the cathedral, Very Rev. Bohdan J. Danylo, seminary rector, and Rev. Bruce Williams, professor of moral theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
The Festival Committee, comprised of members from the ten Connecticut Ukrainian Catholic Parishes, headed by Lubomyr Czubatyj and Donald Horbaty. Approximately 2500 people attended the festival program of entertainment, and Ukrainian style food. Proceeds from the festival are used for the need of St. Basil Seminary in support of priestly vocations.
