FOURTH ANNUAL UKRAINIAN AMERICAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION LEADERSHIP SEMINAR IN WASHINGTON, DC
Over the weekend April 5-7, 2008 the Ukrainian American Youth Association held its fourth annual Leadership Seminar at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, DC.
The National Executive board of CYM invited: Juliana Horbachevsky of Yonkers, Myroslava Hreb of Jersey City, Tania Zaparaniuk of Chicago, Alyssa Puhacz of Buffalo, Natalya Surmachevska of New York, and Larysa Filewicz of Yonkers CYM branch to participate in this event. The main goal of the seminar was to prepare the future leaders of the association.
“We are preparing future leaders of our organization. They will soon take a leadership positions in their local branches and within the Ukrainian community. We ought to prepare them well for this activity” said Mr. Andriy Bihun, CYM’s National Youth Director.
Among the professional, guest speakers over the weekend were: Genya Kuzmowycz Blahy, Daria and Andriy Horbachevsky, Orysia Woloszyn-Dmytrenko, Petro Kosciolek, Bohdan Schevchuk, Andriy Bihun, and Father Bohdan Danylo. The program included lectures and practical exercises related to management, youth leadership skills, and organization of non-for-profit associations.
